actually the copper issuea a shock thus killing the slugs.
slug bait is effective, cheap, and is easier to use imho.

Really good! It reacts with the mucus membrane that covers a slugs body! sorta like a propellant odor, rub the copper in your hands, it has a funny smell to it!
