Hobo Spider Pest Control?
Question:I live in Montana and we have hobo spiders and brown recluses, and they are aggressive (chase you, fast!) and their bite can send you to the ER. Anybody know any (natural, preferably) solutions to preventing them from getting into my home AND killing the ones that are already there? They will start to come in soon, once it gets really hot outside. HELP THEY ARE GROSS AND SCARY! I want to see what I can do other than hiring an exterminator.
Answers:
We just started renting a house in Washington and our house is infested...my fiancee has killed two every night. And yes, they are very aggressive. We had enough, called the landlord and she is having an exterminator come. I would be too worried to try some at-home solution to get rid of them, especially since spraying tends to only kill their enemies. My fiancee sprayed a bug bomb DIRECTLY on one big one (it was supposed to kill on contact) and it took TEN MINUTES to die.YUCKY!
I don't know of any natural way to get rid of them, but I had some spiders/bugs in my house that I just moved into and I picked up a jug of Ortho Home Defense. It was $13, or so, at Lowe's. You just spray it along your walls on the flooring where they would come in at and around the outside of your house. You have to re-apply every 6 months or so inside and every 4 months or so outside, I believe, but it seems to have worked fairly well for me.
