The Royal Mail has lost my parcel?

Question:The royal mail tried to deliver a parcel to my parents house, they left a red card and when we went to collect it (at the time requested) they told us it wasnt there, my mum has been going to the local post office daily and we are being fobbed off with that it must be in the posties bag? it seems a bit strange that they are happy to imply that they dont even check their bags at the end of the delivery runs. Is there anything I can do to help them speed up and try to find the parcel?

Answers:
for you to receive a red card the postman would have had to fill in a form himself which would end up in your local post office. i dont mean to make you sound silly, but you are going to the right office, as the address on the back states?
Anyway, it should be the same postman 90% of the time who'll deiver your post, so be up 'early' (they can come at anytime!) and catch him and ask him about it.

I'd phone their head office and complain, it might make them investigate what has happened to your parcel.
i used to work for rm, in southampton depot. the amount of stealing that went on was incredible. and no one wanted to know. birthday cards, watches, magazines, and there was that postman from shirley who couldnt be bothered to deliver his mail, the police eventually were called, they found he had used hundreds of unopened letters to insulate his loft.
they are unbelievable, but hopefully yours will turn up. the system is chaotic and really badly managed, but some parcels do actually arrive.
Royal Mail & Parcel Force are different. Are you sure of the company trying to deliver? In any event, your local post office should be able to give you a claim form.
you could possible try rm website - there should be a subheading from tracing parcels - you'll need consignment number off red card
Go into the Posta Officer and tell the Post Master
and if they are saying a post man has got it then ask them to do something about for them it is not rocket science.
Tell them if they don't find it that you will report your item lost and stolen and complain. What you want is for somebody to tell them they haev lost your item or it cannot be found rather than pinning obscurious hopes to avoid responsibility.
email head office and if no reply in 2 days send copy again and again
