Take the previous advice regarding the .357 magnum or a 12 gauge. A thief can take a car bumper jack and defeat any lock system you have by simply buckling the door frame. Personally, I like my alarm system and a Mossberg 500 20 gauge. The dead bolt does have the advantage of discouraging amateurs and buys you a few extra seconds to prepare.

at lowes the more you spend the better lock you get .
but most people, that breck in dont ,breck in thru the front door , they look for a open door or window ,
deadbolt work best kwik locks are good
and maybe you need a dog or an alarm as well
