There are Mice in my Home and i Have Kids...?
Question:What do i do? I need something that wont hurt the children, but be good. ( no pets )

try first peppermint oil and spearmint oil mix 50-50 soak cotton balls in the mixture and place in affected areas
smells great but rodents are repelled by it

If you have kid's i recommend that you call an expert nor mechanical or poisoning trap work around kid's.
Ps: Kid's found thins where no one can even imagine
I have cats. 1 indoor, 2 outdoor.
If cats aren't an option, some "live catch" traps are very safe for children. If you go this route, plan ahead what you will do with the live mice that you catch.
Check the outside perimeter of the house for small holes,
then block them up. I used the sticky pads that you can buy at home depot. Remember the smallest hole on the outside of your home is an entrance for mice.
If you have children i would recommend rat/mouse poison which is in boxes then they eat it . Then when they've finished they will go to the next box the smell attracts rats so i would put it in some sort of larger box outside then they will die in the box and then you can dispose of the box without the children having to see the mouse. That's what my family did.

I hate cats so they are not an option for me we do not have mice but last yr we had a little field mouse think my house was his home. I found droppings in my towel drawer and the drawer under the stove so I put in the basica mousetrap that snaps on their little head. Used peanut butter its better then using cheese. Set it out at night, watched my kids during the day and the following evening the mouse was dead I freaked out and my husband took it to the trash
However if you have several mice and you can generally guess the number of mice through the amount of damage they cause eating boxes and so forth as well as droppings it might be best to shell out a few bucks and have it professionally taken care of
First you must fix the problem of where the mice are coming into your home. Find and plug all holes, even if you leave the door open for a while the mice will run in. As you walk in mice can run in with you.
After you do that, Buy a mice/rat hotel/motel. They have three stories. They have male and female robot mice inside dressed as hookers, gigolo's. The female mice will enter the gigolo motel, and the male mice will enter the female hotel. Once inside the robot mice will attack and kill the mice who enter. Problem solved.
Old fashioned mousetraps, set with a gob of peanut butter the size of a large pea (forget cheese--peanut butter is the thing!). Place these under your baseboards, or under a piece of furniture where the kids can't go. You will have to remove the 'victims' but there's not much choice unless you go with the cost of an exterminator.
