What exactly does a surveyor do when you are selling your property?

Question:I have a surveyor coming to my house as I am selling up. Does anyone have any idea what they actually do when they arrive?

Answers:
they go around your entire house looking for any faults which the purchaser should know about. they adivse on any work that should be done before the property is purchased and and the actual market value of the property.

surveys the house and asks questions
they map out the boundary of your property.
Not a lot,for what you pay.
they use gps to find your property lines so that the new people know exacly how much land they r purchasing for their money,
they will measure and check the boundaries of the property.

ask him to put flags in for you so you can see the boundaries and mark them somehow
Depends a bit on the type of survey you ordered. TYpically they will verify the boundary lines are as they are shown on the previous survey, check for any encroachments or boundary line issues or any changes in the property description as currently of record
The not only locate your property lines, but they locate any structures on the property to make sure the house is on the lot and not encroaching set back requirements.
knackall
Spend more time making out their bill than they do on your property
