How do you get rid of skunks without getting sprayed?

Answers:
You trap them and leave them there until they die. Might make the PETA people mad, but it is effective.
You can get traps at Academy Sporting Goods.
daddy's shotgun.
Call a Professional. There is no way to guarantee that you will not get sprayed. In some towns, animal control will take care of it.
Good Luck.
well since no one else has mentioned this..if you really have to use a water hose :P AHHAHA!
Castor Oil Formula: Mix together 1cup castor oil and 1 cup liquid soap. Then add the mixture to 1 gallon of water in a spray can. Spray around area where skunks may have their den.
Hot Pepper Repellent: Ingredients: 1 chopped yellow onion; 1 chopped Jalapeno pepper; 1 tablespoon cayenne pepper. Boil ingredients for 20 minutes in 2 quarts of water. Let cool, then strain mixture through cheesecloth. Apply with spray bottle around the skunk hole (denning area). Do not spray into the hole or the skunk may reciprocate. Reapply after 3-5 days.
Cayenne pepper: Sprinkle around denning area.
Your question is a little puzzling. Do you want to capture the skunk, or repel the skunk? The natural methods mentioned are innovative but,
A: there's a chance you will get sprayed
B: there's a chance you will get sprayed
C: If A or B don't occur, the skunk may just ignore those counter-measures, cover them with dirt and continue. If it likes your territory that much, it will just set up camp in another location and abandon the "treated" zones, only to continue to strike.
In any event, if you are face to face with a skunk, DON'T turn around and run. Back away as quickly as possible without running, being sure NOT TO TRIP OVER ANYTHING.
Most trappers use a have-a-heart trap which is a live catch and release trap (basically a cage) with fruits, nuts, or other types of bait. When the skunk is caught they approach the trap slowly with a white sheet and cover the cage. (Think parakeet in a house) Somehow this calms the skunk, and if it sprays, it hits the sheets. Then, as most trappers have pick-up trucks, (for good reason) the skunk is driven at least 5 miles away and, with pure fear and apprehension, released.
If you aren't a certified, licensed trapper, it's best you don't DIY. All the baths in the world won't excuse your funk and stupidity. By the way, there's no assurance that as you try those homeopathic remedies the skunk won't sucker punch you with spray when you turn around.
