Can I replace the ugly aluminum siding on a house and replace it with brick?

In my opinion to replace aluminum siding with brick would be very expensive and best left to the experts. The foundation would most likely have to be modified because brick has to rest on a foundation because of the weight. I think you will find the cost to be far more than its worth. Also you would have to check your local building codes to see if they would even permit such a modification.
the best way is brick face. it is lighter, durable and attractive. as a home owner, you wont need a permit.
Yes, brick will cost a lot more than siding. You also need more brick to cover the space than siding strips. I don't think there's any modifications, except there might be a few issues here.
(1.) Your brick ledge might be too narrow (since it was siding before). Brick width is greater than siding width.
(2.) You might not be able to brick above windows since you didn't have it properly weighted for bricks.
But, it still might be possible, after all, brick is only fascade.

We had ugly 'yellow' aluminum siding on our house and I went to the Home Improvement (Paint) Center for ideas.
We painted it a Hearthstone tone color and I love it.
Pratt&Lambert carries a paint that you can use on aluminium siding. It has lasted over 10 years now and looks great.
You can get half brick which would look the same and that would require less of a foundation to support it. I would recommend ripping the ugly aluminum siding off and reclying it. I can't believe people who live in metal and concrete boxes and call them homes. It would cost less than the siding I have, which is two lap redwood. I also think stucco is hideous, that's the most common surface siding now.
