A good way to store an overflow of books?

Question:I seem to have acquired more than a thousand books... and I keep on buying more ;) I need to have them handy as I use most of them as reference for the work that I do and I use them on a regular basis... the thing is I am running out of space! I live in an apartment and anywhere that can fit books is already filled with them, including bookshelves. Does anyone have any suggestions as to how to store books and keep them organized so you can retrieve them easily?

Answers:
Store the least used books in small, uniformed sized boxes that won't be too heavy when full of books. Number the boxes. Make lists of all the books that are in each of the boxes. Be sure the lists are easily accessible. The piles you make out of these boxes can be used as tables, or just placed beside book shelves.

PS - A liquor store is a good source for sturdy small boxes.

I use plastic bulb crates . They're stackable ,well-aerated ( half plastic/half slots in the plastic) & just the right size for most books . Check with local nurseries/garden centers/flower shops. Mine are from Langeveld Bulb Co. You could check with them to find their closest customer to you .
go thru a section of them & donate the crappiest ones(hey they seemed good but never really gave me the info I needed) to value village.
