How can i keep spiders away in my country cottage. Are there any gadgets or sprays to stop them coming in?

buy a product specifically labeled as an aracnacide. all 'bug' killers are not equal.
make certain screens are in good repair and there are door sweeps at every entrance. depending on how bad the spiders are, you may want to place a bug zapper out away from your country cottage...so as to draw bugs, thus spiders away.
get rid of the bugs (6 legged kind) and the spiders won't have food hence you get rid of the spiders. Plus seal up any holes to your house as you can!!
In most home and garden departments they sell a VERY sticky adhesive pad (about 4 by 6 inches). You place several of these around the room in corners and such and spiders and other crawlies get trapped in them. They are non-poisonous and VERY effective.
Ortho makes a product called HOME DEFENSE... u can spray it indoors as well as outdoors. & is not harmful to animals... it works... we use it mainly for ants & some other creeping crawlings... u can find it any garden center
theres a company called A+ pest control if you have that company out there there a good company so look them up on google or something
the spiders are finding lots bugs to eat so they like your place, make sure the screens and weather stripping are in good repair to block block them out and remember little critters can walk into your house if there are gaps under the doors.,
If your cottage has a basement,and you have hedge apple trees in your area. Place the hedge apples all around the basement inside, and outside around the foundation. Insects.esp.spiders hate them another name for hedge apples are osage oranges they are a little bit bigger then a softball and somewhat resemble an orange.good luck
