Are there any HVAC codes in Illinois?
Question:I've called my local court house and according to them, our county does not have any codes that an HVAC tech must abide by. Does Illinois have any such codes? My furnace does not have an easily accessible gas shut off, nor electric. There has to be some code that has been broken here. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

It sounds like your a renter and are not happy where you are living. Why not just move? If you and your landlord dont get along now ,calling inspectors wont help.
Forget the State codes. You need to check with your local city, town, township, or COUNTY office and ask them.
It varies by county and ndividual towns can have their own. Cook County is different than Lake County etc.
