Pan Brick homes?
Question:I was checking out homes and different options for homes and came across this http://www.panbrick.com/
It's a Canadian product, but do you think this pan-brick would hold up in Japan where there are typhoons and humid summers? I'm considering buying a house but want to do some research first before deciding on what is the best route to go. Thanks!

To answer your question about using Pan-Brick in Japan, I would have to say that it is perfect for that climate. Whether you live on Hokkido, Kyushu or anywhere in between. The harsh climates is what Pan-Brick was designed for. The fact that Pan-Brick is being used and has been used in Japan for almost 15 years already should tell you. There is a plantation in Georgia in the US, where the product has been for 25 years in an environment similar in the humidity to Japan, in fact there are areas where moss is growing on the face due to the excessive watering, and the rear of the panels are dry. The panels are still like new. The original 98 homes built in Kitchener, Ontario are still there as well, and that has been 38 years. In Canada, where it was originally designed by Dupont, it was designed for use all over Canada, so that means from Vancouver to St.Johns. Where do you get worse climates than Canada. Insn't Canada GREAT! At least for testing and for a change in season. Nobody can say we don't get a change of seasons! Cheers, good luck in your house building or search.
