How do I keep lizards and other rodents out of my house?

Question:Last year amice was in the house this year I found a lizard in my kitchen. Pls help with suggestions

go around your house and look for any little holes like around windows, water pipes, fireplaces, the gas fireplace key and put steel wool in it. We used to live in a house with wood floors and my mom had to do this because of field mice. They won't chew thru the steel wool.
