Fire Ant Killer & Rain?

Question:I recently applied Ortho Orthene Fire Ant Mound Killer (works as a bait) to 2 fire ant mounds.

Approx. 15 hours later, it rained (I live in Houston, so it ALWAYS rains every so often).

Will the killer still work? I can no longer see it (it dissolved)

Answers:
yes it fact it dissolved s into the ground, and releases more chem into the soil.

yes. all that was needed was for a drone (worker) to take the bait to the queen. once she is dead the mound will die. it usually takes a few days. and just fyi...the queens can be as deep as 10'! that means a lot of ants.
