When filling up a pool...?
Question:Should you give the water a break or something like that so the pump doesnt get damaged? Its been filling for about 9 hours now and its not even halfway filled.
Answers:
Your well pump will be fine.
If this is a rectangular pool of 11x36x7 then you are looking at approximately 20,700 gallons of water. Thankfully you will only have to exchange the water about once every 6 years or so.
wow big pool
woa~ your pool must be big!
try pouring in the water... read the instructions?
If you are filling it from a municipal water supply, then the pump that's creating the pressure can more than handle it.
No, you don't have to. It really makes no diffrence
Don't worry about it if you live in a municipal area. If you live in a rural area, and you are filling it from a private well on your property then, yes.
i know a lot of people that will get a hold of a guy that drives milk
trucks, the semi tankers i,m talking about and for about $150.00
he,ll fill his tanker up and deliver fresh water to your pool and fill it in 15 mins. that,s cheaper than buying a new pump!
he get,s the water in the city from fire hydrants and they charge him for the usage of fire hoses and a water bill.
What pump? Well pump? City water pump (who cares?)? Pool pump (Dont have a clue why you think it would).
Anyway, just poor in the water.. I am guessing you are on a well which is why u ask this question, in which case, they are rated for continuous duty cycle. I have had mine run for several days straight. Heck, they're submerged in water... not like they are going to overheat. We've been on a well all of our lives. and had pools all of our lives (bigger than yours, no disrespect intended). just stick the hose in and run it... :) Enjoy your swim when u are done!!!
You may want to ask your local fire dept. to fill it for you, some of them will for a donation
Turn off the pump,it will burn it out! Just let the water run overnight,(and it still won't be filled) run the pump when the water is half way up the pool tiles. I'm guessing it's an in ground pool.
