How can I prevent a woodpecker from pecking on my metal raingutters?

Question:We've had woodpeckers around our house for years. Two weeks ago a redheaded woodpecker started to peck on the metal gutter. I checked the gutter and it is free of bugs and debris. Why is he doing this and how can I get him to stop. The noise is horrendous.

Answers:
Get one of those fertilizers that you hook to your hose and put some bleach, vinegar, ammonia, or something like that and spray the gutter with it. It should keep him away long enough for him to forget about it and move on. Or you could get a rubber snake or a fake owl to put up there.

Trap it and let it go in another state or far far away.
