Kingston, Guildford, Petersfield if you don;t mind commuting a bit (it's direct line to Waterloo - about 50mins.) Depends on your budget of course.
Yes Try Calais France. Property is far less expensive.Less crime than UK.and far better standards of education.
Buxted or Uckfield.
Tring is a reasonable town and around 40 minutes drive from London.

trains go in to euston and has a good link on to the m25 (a41)
