Can I hose down the inside of my gas grill? It's really dirty with burnt crusty stuff.?
Question:If I can't hose it down with water, is there a better solution?
Answers:
yes. use oven cleaner first, make sure to spray oven cleaner on the gas jets, too then hose that baby off!
oven cleaner, no water will make it rust and eventually tear up
Ok, what you do is get that gas grill as "hot" as possible.. (take out the rocks and all that), so that the "heat" will "cook" the burnt on stuff, like your self cleaning oven would...
Then, take a brush, after it cools and sweep out the insides, to a place where you can get and vacumned all the stuff, or even just use the wet&dry vac to suck up the junk.
If its still bad, use some oven cleaner, and heat the grill up again, then hose it down into a receptacle and dispose of it according to direction on the can. (Watch out, because most oven cleaners are caustic, (lye), and will burn your eyes, so use all the proper protection, such as safety glasses and oven mits and maybe a mask for the fumes!
I wish you well...

I dont know what the difference is beetween oven and grill cleaner, but you can buy grill cleaner at walmart. You just spray it on and let it sit for a few minutes so it can do its job. Then I take a putty knife and scrape it clean and throw the burnt stuff in the trash can. The only setback is if you try to cook something right away, it will taste like grill cleaner. After you clean it, just turn the grill on high and let it cook all the excess cleaner away. If you have to, you can wipe it dry if you are pressed for time...
