Carpenter ants in the home?

Question:Please help. I have carpenter ants in my house and cant get rid of them! I have sprayed and set traps and they wont die! I keep a very clean house so I do not understand? Any ideas?

Answers:
carpenter ants are quite easily killed with insect dusts
why do you have them in the house ?
carpenter ants like to nest in decaying timber which would indicate you have a moisture problem somewhere in the house
track them down ..treat them ..then get a builder to check the rotted timbers ..then get attended too
by the way make sure they are carpenter ants first you don,t want to disturb if there termites
catch one ...look carefully.if it has a 3 segment body (head, mid section rear end)it's and ant
if a head a long body 2 segment like a cockroach them it a termite..call a professional

Are you sure they are carpenter ants? Have you seen what they are eating? What do they look like? I'm not sure if this works for carpenter ants, but the best solution for ants in the house for me has been to mix half boric acid powder with half powdered sugar, then add enough water to make a syrupy paste. Put it out around the areas you see ants and let them eat. Do not disturb them while they eat this...within a few days they should be gone.
find the nest and then kill it that's the only way and find it soon they will wreck your house
If you haven't already, try Terro. It is a gel liquid that you put onto a piece of cardboard or something and set it around the doors and windows. They eat/drink this, then die.
Otherwise, I would call a pest control company ASAP.
