Try moving them to your store room!
Use a gel from Nippon, it comes in a small tube. It's very good, it's a slow releasing poison but it tastes sweet. The ants will feed on it and within a week the poison will kick in, and kill all the ants.

You can buy ant traps from lots of places, the best are the one with the little white tubes that u put on the floor, they work great

NOT NICE BUT ANT POWDER - THEY'LL WALK IT BACK TO THE NEST AND ALL DIE.FEEL GUILTY SAYING THAT JUST WATCHED 'THE ANT BULLY' SO I GUESS THE PC ANSWER IS TO SAY PUT A TRAIL OF RED JELLYBEANS FROM YOUR FRONT ROOM TO THE FRONT GARDEN TO ENCOURAGE THEM TO CREATE A NEST IN THE LAWN INSTEAD
yeah i had the same problem,i bought some ant repellent powder and put it round my doors and window frames at the bottom just open
them up and put it there it stopped my problem it should stop yours.
They will be looking for food so make sure there isn't any, such as crumbs on the floor etc.
I've used Nippon drops before as well and found them to be quite effective. If you have young children be careful of where you put the poison down.
Give the outside edges of your house, close to where they might be coming in from a good spraying with any decent ant spray available from supermarkets, DIY shops etc
Now this might sound very strange, but put a slice of cucumber in their general area. I didn't believe it either, but trust me it works.

Their ants! The planet has bazillions of them, so you are not going to endanger a species. Any good insecticide that says it kills ants will do. You want to be organic, save the planet? Go to your local garden store and buy some DE, diatomasious earth. Put it along the baseboards and window sills where they are getting in. It will take longer but they will go away.
make your own trap.
get a 2 or 1 litre pepsi or coke bottle or any pop bottle really.
cut the top off from just about where the bottle starts to taper in so that it will sit in the side the bottle when it is up side down.
cut it off then turn the cut off lid upside down and sit it in the bottle. put syrup or even leave some coke in the bottle. they get in but then they cant get out. running syrup down the inside of the bottle is good for luring them all the way in.

Some folk around here draw a chalk line at the door's entrance. Others sprinkle cream of tartar.
use the product "tero" place small amouts where the ants are cocentrated..If you can find where they are coming in get alarge container of insect killer from wal mart, not spray cans , and spray the places outside where they are getting in the house.
Just nag your family to put them in the laundry basket.

For ants on the counter top, wipe down the counter top with white undiluted vinegar. To prevent ants from coming into the house, or getting into cupboards, sprinkle dried mint or red pepper where they are entering the house and in the cupboards. If you know where the anthills are, make a mixture of 50 percent borax (sold in laundry aisle of supermarkets) and 50 percent confectioner's sugar and place near anthill. The ants are attracted to the sugar and carry the fatal borax/sugar combination back to the nest to feed the queen and other ants. Soon all ants will be dead. Do not put this mixture where children and pets can ingest it. To get rid of anthills, pour 3 gallons of boiling water down them. This is best when done when the ants are active and at the surface. Do not do it near flowers or they will die.
Go to your local zoo ,and ask for a lone of the ant eater ,that will solve the problem!
you will not get rid of the ants unless you can find the nest.destroy the nest with ant powder or burn it. good luck
buy some nippon and put it on a piece of glass they all gather round and eat it and take it back to the nest and sadly die

get in touch with local council health and environment they will send a pest controller to see you and clear the problem

I just spent ages typing my answer and lost it completely when I tried to edit it. Doh! With our dog I worried about ant powder and Nippon. We found a brilliant device at B&Q. It is a square plastic box, flat and with 4 entrance holes. Loads of goodies inside. Flat enough to put under the sofa away from kids and dogs. Little anties can,t resist the flavour, gobble it up and take it back to the nest. Hey Presto! no more ants. I have no qualms about reducing the trillion, billion, millions of these harmless, but annoying little pests.
