Just bought some battery powered solar lights?
Question:About £3. each. Put them in the garden, switched them all on. All have come on each night except one. What can be wrong with it and how long do these usually last?
Answers:
I guess it depends what you pay for them, then...We bought some 6 years ago for about £6.00 each...Had to place the rechargeable batteries (2) in them for 48 hours before switching on, so they got charged up in the daylight. They are all with the original batteries, and are still going perfectly. Later we bought some more on a Bogof offer, but these were inferior in as much as they only used one battery each, so the power was not as good, thus the light was weaker. They are still working though, and have not had any problems with them.
I bought some last year. Only 3 out of 4 still work. They're not made to last very long I fear.
the balbs may be broken in the one that will not turn on they will last for about 3 years if you remove them in the winter time
They are not that good - in fact they're useless. If you have the receipt take them back and get a refund!
i agree with laura..you are lucky to have 3 workin cos non of mine did
It might just need to recharge in the sun - put it in a sunny place for a few hours. I have some but they never shine very brightly, so unfortunately, I don't use them. I use candles instead.
Just thought - if they're solar powered why do they need batteries?!! Or maybe you mean a battery that recharges using solar power?
probably the rechargeable batteries you can get new ones for solar lights off ebay for a couple of quid but as your lights cost £3 anyway i would take em back to the shop.
I agree with Laura, none of them are worth the money.
Take them back and get a refund, then install the low voltage type, it's easy and they look great.
And I agree with Laura total rubbish. Still we get what we pay for.
