Is it OK to put water collected from a dehumidifer into a pool?
Question:I live in NY and we have been in some very dry weather and our pool level is going down quite a bit over the past couple of weeks. I collect alot of water from my 3 dehumidifiers in our house, is it OK to dump this water into the pool to help out with keeping it full? We have well water also, so I don't want to fill it with the hose any more than I have to.
Answers:
If it's from chemical dehumidifiers then absolutely not. This water isn't pure at all. If it's from mechanical dehumidifiers then it's perfectly fine.
I use my dehumidifier water to supplement my clothes washer. If your clorine level is proper, I see no reason why not.
water from dehumidifiers is about as pure as you can get, it should cause no problems
no because its from the air, and the air in newyork, (most of it) is polluted with car gasses, and putting that back in the pool will be like swimming in acid. would say get a hose, and dump that water into the drain.
I wouldn't stess too much about adding this water to your pool. The surface of your pool probably absorbs more pollutants than all your dehumids. The filtration in your pool should handle any nasty chems in any case.If you lived near any major mines etc I would worry. Heavy metals would be a problem. Good luck
Absolutely! It's the purest water actually. It filters out a lot of dirt in the air and there's no chemicals in it like tap water has. It's damn near pure H2O.
