Im gonna do a garage sale this weekend?
Question:im gathering up a bunch of stuff around my house that nobody uses anymore, and im gonna set up tables outside, and put the stuff out on display with little pricetags on them, and im gonna set them on the table. the table is gonna have a big decorated sign on the front that says 'garage sale'. my friend said i should put up posters around the neighborhood (i live in a subdivision) a couple days before, but im too lazy to do that and i dont want to. besides alot of cars pass around my house, so im pretty sure if they saw a garage sale a few would stop. and they'd have money because they were in their cars, right? i just want to know if i could still have a successful garage sale without putting signs up before.

I have had many successful garage sales in the last few years with profits in the hundreds.
Here's what you need to know.
Get ready and have everything out early! Garage Sale shoppers are usually out as early as 7am.
Be reasonably priced.
Get as many signs posted out there as you can. More signs in more areas means more customers and more money!
We like to put one by the street corner and one by the next cross-street. (Also one on the main road if you live close to one.) Use arrows to point them in the right direction.
Use BIG SIGNS!! Big poster board, preferably in bright colors, yellow or green. Use big letters. Make the signs eye catching by using balloons. Do this the morning of. If you do it the night before, the signs will be wet and soggy by morning from the overnight dew and the balloons will be deflated.
You can also take out an ad in the local paper, like the Penny Saver. List the major items you are selling and what you have the most of. Just a few lines will costs less than 10 bucks and will greatly increase your customer-base. People do check these types of circulars for Garage Sales!
Have fresh lemonade and cookies /cupcakes. Your customers will be thirsty and the children will love it.
Good luck and have fun!! :)
you might be able to but putting up signs is the way to go so polep can know a bout it and you can get way more people most likey
Well, you know how much traffic passes your house, but I'd still put a sign up at the busiest intersection close to home. You'd definitely get more buyers. And good luck with your sale. ☺
Your laziness cuts your profits substantially. Get off your bum and put the signs up. Dont put your address on the signs. Put an arrow. Nobody is going to seek out your house number.
if your outside putting in the effort to do things right ( yard sale ) then yes , you must make corner signs and make them as bright and large, if you want to double your sales!
