I have the same problem with deer at my grandfather's grave. Instead, I buy really beautiful fake or silk flowers. They stay nice longer, and the deer won't come near them! Yes, some look cheesy, but there are also some really nice fake flowers, too. And you can afford to buy nice ones, because you won't have to replace them so often.

plant come carrots alongside!
sounds a bit uuuugggg but get some lion dropping from the zoo and put a little near the grave...that will keep all animals away. Alternatively put a small open jar full of ammonia near the grave the small deters just about everything.
For a simple safe deterrent.... Get yourself some baby powder and sprinkle on the flowers. The powder will dry the rabbits mouth and cause them to find another buffet. After rain you need to re-apply for a few times. After a while ...Bugs Bunny will move on.
May I suggest some tasteful plastic flowers. Its your visit ,feeling and thoughts that count, just think how practical was my Mum?
