I have found that the Little Debbie Star Crunch snack cakes work really great. All you have to do is cut off a piece and mold it to the end of the trip bar and let the trap sit for a day or two or until you hear it get tripped by the mouse. The star crunch snacks or like rice krispies mixed into caramel and then they have a layer of chocolate over them.
gluetraps don't need bait. but peanut butter can attract them.
I've had good success with peanut butter. Added bonus is that it's really easy to get it to stay on the trap.
Peanut Butter.
peanut butter... mice love it..
try the smooth one you wouldn't want the mouse to choke now ..would you??
Natural peanut butter, chunky..snap!
a piece of wet bread with peanut butter on it
All you need is a small piece of old cheese.
If it's in a room that is used a lot i would suggest going to the store the have mouse bait that wont smell as bad as cheese, but cheese is cheaper!!
The cheese can be old and hard it won't matter.
I wish you good luck
also a pair of gloves will be useful for when you have to throw out the dead mouse, VERY HANDY he he have fun lol!
Peanut Butter does the trick
Peanut Butter
Peanut butter.
That depends on where you live and what they are eating. I live here in Florida, so many of the field mice are use to eating citrus. So, I get some citrus and bait the traps with that. Peanut butter also works well.
I also recommend that you put the snap traps against walls in dark areas. These are the best locations to catch mice. Also, check the outside of your house for how they are getting in. A mouse can fit into a hole the size of a dime or larger. Many times you will see the mouse's "rubbings" around the hole they are entering from. The rubbing looks like a greasy smudge around the entrance point. If you block up the hole with steel wool and secure it into place, you should stop them from entering your home! Good luck!
Of course you would use organic Peanut butter!!
peanut butter on one and cheese on another...just to provide variety. I've had success with both. Also make sure you place them around wall edges since they like to follow the edges.
peanut butter
Plain old white flour sprinkled on the trap. They love it and they can't steal the bait and get away.
