spectracide works really well for me get the granules outside but get the liquid inside. I bought a pump up sprayer and fill it up and spray around my doors windows and baseboards. behind the fridge anywhere you have food really is important because they are in you home for a reason. If you have children make sure they dont get to it why it is wet because its toxic but only when its wet once it dries its safe.
Boric acid. It is a white powder that you can get from Lowe's or HD. Just sprinkle a fine line in the cracks under your sinks, at the base of baseboards, on windowsills. It will get rid of ants, spiders, roaches, slugs, etc. Some companies actually put it out in a bottle with a nozzle tip for fine lines.
One way is to hire an exterminator, and let him treat your house and lawn. Another way is to buy a bug spray and spray the lawn yourself.
I hired an exterminator, and he comes every 3 months and treats our house and yard. It is expensive, but for us it is worth it.
Before that, I used to spray the yard myself. I found Raid to be a good product to kill ants.
Also, it is important to keep all foods off counters and tables. Keep packaged foods in ziplock bags, to keep ants out of them. Try to not have food for an ants' picnic available.
I don't kill them. But I use vinegar to keep them away. Also use 'used' coffee ground. The ants like sweet things and these things will stop them. Use them in a line, circle what you want to protect (house, gardens, etc).
Hello Trevor V. Here is a fool-proof solution. You put out Semolina(from food store) onto jam jar tops and spread them around your house.Little critters like the taste, take it back to nest, all feed on it,but can't digest it. All die. Also you can use scented Talcum powder. They (ants) hate the smell. But first solution is best. Good Luck!
I fill a spray bottle with about 1/3 white vinegar and the rest water. They HATE the vinegar - it does seem to kill them although someone else said it is only a deterrant. Maybe my mix is stronger?
