I have planted some Cerinthe purple bells, and they have a disease?

Question:i planted them late, but the seeds sprouted, the stalks are about 5" long but they must have some type of disease or bug eating them because they have seethru spots on them and some leaves are drying, does anyone know how i can get rid of this?

Answers:
It might be a disease or it might be leafminer insects. Since you don't know which I would spray them with a combo spray (one that has an insecticide and fungicide) like Ortho Orthenex for Roses. Some newer bottles are called Disease and Insect Control. I don't know why Ortho changed the name--people have been using it and have know it as Orthenex for decades. Your L&G Tech will help you.

Also make sure you don't water them in the late afternoon. It's best for the leaves to be dry when the sun goes down.
