Which flower/plant will be best used as a wedding favor?

Question:I want to give each one of my guest a flower/plant that will continue to grow year round. It is supposed to be a symbol of our marriage and I will be attaching a little poem to each flower/plant asking each guest to care for and nurture the plant to help it grow as they have all helped us in our relationship. I really want our wedding favor to be something meaningful. Any suggestions.

I think that lucky bamboo is a nice gift. It looks neat. You can mass order stalks in different sizes and shapes. They all have different meanings all of which can go along with a wedding. You can have a large display and have people pick and take a stalk or put each in a small water stake and decorate nicely. You can use netting or tulle to wrap around it matching your colors. Search lucky bamboo or lucky bamboo stalks and you can find several places to purchase. Also, ebay you can find bulk.

ivy!
Go to a nursery and find which plants grow well in your area. You can probably arrange to get the plants (and instructions for their care) from the nursery. This way, even those guests with a brown thumb can enjoy your gift and the memory of your wedding.
Tulip,daffodil,crocus.somethin... that will grow again the next year
cactus, some varieties last for hundred years
I would go with an herb. Mint or basil...something that smells good and can be used. They are also small, and can be purchased individually.
I call it a bleeding flower. It's a annual from a root. Absolutely gorgeous it's light pink shaped like a heart and at the bottom is a small split that (looks like a small drop of blood) but it's white.
A nursery can tell you the real name. I'm going for one myself.
Check with a nursery to see what grows well in your area.
you could use peace lily that is a symbol of love peace and happiness through out one' relationship and they come in white, pale yellow , and i think a light orange they're beatiful
if cost is an issue, i would go with ivy. you can purchase a large plant and make lots of little ones with cuttings. cut a quarter of an inch from where a leaf meets the vine and stick it in a clear container with an inch of water in a sunny spot. roots will grow in a couple of days. you can then transfer them to a cute little container. Easter Lillie's work the same way as well and produce flowers.
if cost does not matter you can go with bulbs. Narcissus is a traditional wedding flower and the flowers smell so good.
congratulations and good luck in your new marriage.
