There are only a few things in this life that I take seriously, and kitchen knives are one of them. You get what you pay for. JA Henckels makes a pretty good knife. That should get you by for a few years. Key is to keep your knives sharp. Probably pay a buck and a half for a full set of knives. If you want to get the really good stuff you can get Cutco, which is not available in stores, only through sales people and youll pay about a grand for a full set of those, but again, you get what you pay for.

Japanese knives are awesome. A little pricey, but they will last you a good while in the long run. Check online, a place called Morty's knives i hear has a good selection.
