What can i do to my landscaping stone/pebbles to give them that wet glossy look?

Question:I recently put down landscaping pebbles/stone around my house and i like the look of them wet and glossy when i first put them down. Now that they are dried out the color kind of clashes with my brick home. Can i spray a wet glossy sealer on them and mix them around for that look? Will that hurt my plants? PLease help or offer suggestions.

Answers:
marine grade varnish.

clear nail polish
clear nail polish might work but you have to be real patient to be stroking it on little by little with the tiny brush. if you want it fast and easy try some shoe shiner polish
There are contractors who can spray an acrylic sealer on the stones. Look in the phone book under concrete specialties. Call one of them and ask who does that kind of work. It's commonly done these days. Very popular.
Spray them with some spray polyurethane from the paint/hardware store. Try to keep the spray off your plants, but its presence on your stones shouldn't hurt the plants.
to my knowledge there is nuthing on the market at this time to do this. i would say if its that important to u install a soaker hose or small sprinklers in the stone to keep them wet and shiny. but...bare in mind when u have constant water on them and they are not allowed to dry via the sun... they will establish moss/algae and it will spread like a green blanket over the stone. its a slimy mess. i know this because i have allot of stone work in my landscaping. its a double edged sword because i too like the look of the wet stones/pebbles/rocks cause it really brings out the colors.

good luck!
... or you could by a sprayer and some shelac and water and have fun
They do make a spray, I'm trying to remember it's name. They sell it at Home Depot. Actually it was sold in one gallon and five gallon containers. You could put it in one of those garden sprayers and spray your stones. It is for natural stone.
I would NOT spray it around your plants though, lay stones on a large piece of cardboard and spray, or cover your plants and spray, then remove plastic so that the plants can breath. I still can't remember the name, check with both the garden and the paint department.
I'm sorry, I still can't remember the name, getting old bites!!
Actually they may have moved this product to building materials. Ask several store associates, certainly someone will know what will work. Good Luck!!
