Does anyone know what kind of weedkiller and insecticide for flowering plants is safe ? we use well water.?

Question:We have a well and we use the water to drink and cook with, besides washing. Someone said these weedkillers and insecticides can cause cancer!
So we are concerned and wonder if there is anything that we can use that will not pose this problem.

Hello. I live in New Zealand and we are very conscious of the misuse of weedkillers and insecticides. You can get a herbal weedkiller. Ask your garden centre. As far as insecticides- you can make three safe types. Soapy water kills off Aphids and mites. Nicotine from cigarette stubs put in water- say half a gallon. Strong as you like. Most insects hate it. Thirdly you can crush Garlic bulbs in water. I usually boil the Garlic and then let it cool. The other safe way if your insects can be seen is to pick them off by hand.
