What type of soil would you plant a cordeline in?

Question:

I would use a regular micracle gro/scotts potting soil that has the vermiculite (white pellets) in it. put a drainage hole inthe bottom of the pot, or add soime rocks to the bottom if there's no hole, just so the roots aren't sitting in water. soil that's too moist will limit oxygen the plant gets and cause root rot. in my experience, cordyline has a pretty small/shallow root system anyway, so you want to be careful and make sure it's planted well so it won't uproot/tip over

Cordelines are tough, pretty much anything that drains would be fine. I would avoid too sandy a mix. Don't over pot. Use a size that gives it some room to grow, but not too much extra space.
