In my opinion, any product that has an unlimited guarantee for a warranty period that represents a fair time period to give the product a good test is a no gamble situation. Some retailers such as Lowe's and Home Depot add their own return policies.
Pool sweeps might be a device that has been tested by Consumer Reports and checking with them is advisable.
