How safe are slug pellets really?
Question:Ive just got plants in pots for my yard, im also growing plants from seed. Ive noticed an increase in slugs and snails and tell-tale holes in some leaves. Ive two cats and i am worried about their safety. Ive tried organic ways and it hasnt helped. Would like advice of anyone else with pets and their experiences. Thanks.

Try Escar-Go! You can read about it at the link below. It's from Gardens Alive, which sells environmentally-friendly garden products. They say, "Escar-Go! can be used wherever slugs and snails are a problem-even around pets and wildlife!" I've used this for two years, very effectively.
salt around the plant or eggshells
someone once told me if you put egg shells around your plants the slugs will stay away, thought they were joking so i tryed it this year and it so far has worked,i hate slug pellets i think they attract slugs.and the mess they leave behind "yuk"i got fed up of wasting money on plants for the slugs to have a midnight feast.good luck in what ever u use
Slug pellets are really unsafe. Slugs eat pellets, frogs, toads, birds eat slugs and can then be killed. Also known of dogs being poisened by them.
you can keep your cats inside.
