Is it okay to plant herbs in plastic containers?
Question:like to keep them growing in a container plastic, do i need to put holes for drainage
Answers:
Just put tiny holes at the bottom but not that big so abit of air can get in
They will do better in clay pots. Either need drainage. Plastic is only temporary.
Yes, plastic works fine, but be sure the pot is large as they grow quickly, also drainage is a must for almost all plants.
Yes you need holes for drain and then if you get too much water, the roots will not rot and plants die. All plants in pots need drainage. The herbs do real good in pots in a sunny window. Eat up and enjoy and experiement with new tastes in cooking.
It's fine to reuse plastic containers to plant herbs in, but you do need to make drainage holes in it! I also would put a tiny bit of screen over the holes and then put in some gravel/sm rocks. Remember that there are lots of herbs that like soil a bit on the dry side!
good luck and have fun!
you could get mildew or fungus it needs ventalation
ur gonna get molested by plants
You absolutely can use plastic containers for herbs! You definitely do want to put some drainage holes in the bottom to make sure they arent sitting in water. Make sure they get lots of sun, too.
That's it! Have fun!
You will need holes for drainage no matter what kind of container you use. Here's a link to a container gardening forum http://forums2.gardenweb.com/forums/cont... or try this forum on herb gardening, http://forums.gardenweb.com/forums/herbs...

Absolutely!
Just make sure the container is very clean when you add the bedding material.
When you buy seedling plants they usually come growing in small plastic containers.
