MAJOR ANTS PROBLEM?

Question:We have a major ant problem in our kitchen. We use pepper because they will not crawl over pepper but we need a different trick because they crawl up the walls and you can't put pepper on walls coz it wont stick. Is there any tricks out there such as pepper?

Answers:
It sounds like you have a Farrow Ant problem. These guys are EXTREMELY hard to get rid of. I know that we used to sprinkle Seven Dust in the corners and along the crease where the cabinet top and the wall connected. It is messy.

If I were you, I'd call in a professional exterminator. If you live in an apartment or are renting, have your landlord pay for this. If you live in an apartment, hopefully the whole building will be done at the same time because otherwise the ants will just move from apartment to apartment.

Good luck!

Get a maid. XD
We call the flick man each year.that seems to keep them at bay.
they are coming in mainly for water so maybe leave little bowls of water downstairs & lizards will love you for it in this drought
don't know if it will work but i just gave into the ants got sick of spraying all the time just make sure they can't get a single thing out of my pantry by having things in sealed jars etc & they just get at crumbs on the bench top & not much of a worry now
I know that ants don't like coffee grounds, I put a trail across the door sill where they came in, and no more ants. Ants love sugar, If they are on your walls, I'll bet they're after sugar. Maybe rinse off the walls with a wet cloth.
Try this: To locate a nest, try following a trail of ants until they disappear. You can also place syrup or honey on cardboard or wax paper squares along ant trails. A thick trail leading from the syrup can help you pinpoint the nest. If the nest is found outdoors, pour large amounts of boiling water directly into the nest to destroy it. Use a full pot of water. Repeat if necessary. Put a little cornstarch in the vacuum bag to help suffocate the ants. Always remove the vacuum bag, seal the opening, and dispose of promptly.

To keep ants from entering your home, fill cracks and crevices that provide entry from outside with silicone caulk. Seal around baseboards, moldings, cupboards, pipes, ducts, sinks, toilets, and electrical outlets. A temporary seal can be made using petroleum jelly or duct tape. Weather-strip around doors and windows.

Trim branches of trees and shrubs that touch your home to keep ants from crawling across to the roof or siding. Provide a dry, vegetation-free border, such as brick walkways or stones, around the house foundation to discourage nest building. Avoid stacking wood or trash next to structures. Regularly inspect compost and firewood piles, plant containers, and woody debris for ants.

Good luck!
