What plant would discourage squirrels from digging in my planter box?

Question:I am growing chamomille and sage, and the darn black squirells keep digging them up... %@$&*^!!

Answers:
Try some orange peel or lemon peel sprinkled through the box. Squirrels hate citrus. I had a squirrel once that would climb the post from the ground to my balcony. Sprayed it with lemon pledge of all things and the squirrel never was seen again.

One quick and easy way to deter squirrels is to sprinkle used cat litter around the base of flower plants or around the area where any bulbs are located. A few spoonfuls are enough to convince them that a hungry cat is lurking nearby. (Don’t use this trick for food crops!)

Also, you can sprinkle cayenne pepper in the flower box. It will not hurt the plants, and will deter squirrels and bugs.
Squirrelsbane.
