Rust & Dishwasher?

Question:I just noticed that the underside of one of my dishwasher racks is rusty! I haven't noticed any rust on my dishes, but is this dangerous? I was washing my baby bottles in there!

Answers:
yes it could be wash your bottles by hand and get a professional opinion

Ha ha!
I would not worry about health problems over it. Different types of rust are sold as minerals. They are under the name of zinc oxide and other metal oxides.
I don't think you have any thing to worry about. The racks are coated with a rubber like substance. When this rubber cracks the water and the chlorine in the detergent cause the rack to rust. If you live in an area that has hard water this will accelerate the rusting process.
