Have your sucessfully used these products for outside rat control?

Question:Has anyone tryed rodent powder made from fox and bobcat scent or mothballs in a coffee can with holes in the can? We have dogs in our back yard and don't want to harm them but need to do something about the rat population in our yard. The rats are so bad this year!

The odor from these may keep them away or draw more in...get you some EAGLE 7 rat bait and put it where the rats can get it..when they eat this, then drink water..they just die and dry up instead of the deadly smell you can't live with...
