Why are dandelions considered weeds when daisies are considered flowers?
Question:
Answers:
If you were making dandelion wine, they wouldn't be weeds - the daisies would be.
Weeds are situational. Just plants growing where you don't want them - regardless of the species.
It depends on who you ask. There are places where dandelions are considered flowers, and where daisies are considered weeds.
All a weed really is is a plant out of place.. Otherwise they're really all flowers.
I dunno why but they have a lot of uses. I am collecting them now to make dandelion wine. The roots are able to be brewed in to a tea. The flowers and leaves can be eaten in a salad. The plant also has medicinal properties as well.It is very unfairly classified as a weed.
A weed is simply a plant that is not where it is wanted. Dandelions like to go where people don't want them, i.e. the lawn, so they are considered weeds.
Every tried cooking them like spinach/swiss chard??
aka Dandlion greens
An old expression if you can't beat them, eat them
