Question:
Answers:
use 1/4 cup of baking soda or washing soda, and a pan of boiling water, put the soda in the drain and then poor the boiling water down it, also works great for cleaning out the drains inside your home too, I usually do it inside at least once a month, keeps them clean and keeps bad odors away.
If your doing it inside only use 2 tablespoons in each drain
bleach
Had the same problem. Bleach worked.
Draino.
bleach or ammonia mixed with cayeene pepper(excuse spelling)
use any cleaning product
I have these tiny flies too, am in FL.
I don't know them.
If they are still the little white looking worm type thing before they turn into flies, bleach won't work. I have no idea what will work, but I would like to know what would in case I ever have the same problem.
Yah, it could be that the pipe that vents the sewer gas out of your drains is plugged. That's that little pipe or pipes that come out of your roof. They are usually above the bathrooms and kitchen. You might want to call a plumber. Hopefully, you aren't smelling the sewer. Good luck. I don't really know the solution.
Moth Fly Elimination
Although space sprays easily kill adult moth flies in a home and around patios and porches, they will not totally eliminate the fly infestation. Total control comes with locating and eliminating breeding sites discussed in Moth Fly Inspection. Use the Gold Stick pheromone trap to capture adult flies in kitchens, bathrooms or other areas where moth fly activity has been detected. If a drain is found to be a breeding ground, clean the drain thoroughly (scrubbing it , if possible) and use Drain Gel (formally called Fly Gel) to destroy the film harboring the organisms.
I agree with bleach, but more specifically, a tablespoon after each time the drain is used so that there are no periods when the water in the "u" joint is available as a breeding environment.
i thought they flies too, i soon learned they were gnats and when you have a lot of rain they love moisture so they won't go away till the rain does.
