What is the most reliable brand of washing machine?
Question:Or tumble dryer ect. I went to buy one today and was told not to buy a Hotpoint because they were unreliable and I should buy a Samsung or similar. Now Im confused!! What brands do you use and how have you found them?

I've had my Hotpoint washing machine for 9 years & my hotpoint dryer for 6 years & they are still going strong. Never had a problem yet. ( bet i've jinxed myself now though, lol )

for the money get a maytag the only reasons you will get rid of it is you move and leave it there or in future you just want another one..
Reliabilty is a thing of chance, so one person's experience isn't going to tell you whether yours will be as successful or not. Talk to the people at the appliance store. They can tell you which ones give them the most problems. As a general rule, you get what you pay for, so don't pick the cheapest model first. And, ask about an extended warrenty if you can't afford to replace it down the road. You can get a better deal if you warrenty other appliances at the same time.
it must be something to do with luck, I've had a hotpoint for 3 years and its very reliable. I heard that bosch and miele have very good reputations for reliability, but you pay for it
Beko. Cheap and rated very highly by everyone that owns one. I have had mine for years.

I say Dyson - they are a bit more expensive than others, but they are very reliable, and their service is fantastic. They also put new software on to improve the performance last time they came (the problem they came to fix was my fault - pencil in washing mc had marked clothes - but they didn't charge me for visit) . Very impressed with them!
Maytag's claim to be the best, but I think we've always had Whirlpool and had quite good luck with them.

Bosch for all white goods for me: I am on my second Bosch washing machine, have dishwasher and fridge freezer - all are excellent, I've had no problems and the prices for Bosch are more competitive than ever. Search on Kelkoo for products and prices for the best deal.
Incidently: Hotpoint had a bad reputation many years ago, but that has long passed. Hotpoint are now made by Bosch.
hotpoint aquarius its fab had mine few years and my friend has 10 kids hers is still going!!
Hotpoint is a very good make, and I've found they have a good maintenance backup too. If you're looking for one in the lower price range Indisit are good.
