When harvesting fresh basil, how do you snip off leaves to promote new growth?

Question:

Answers:
There's almost nothing better than the aroma of fresh basil! To harvest it, you need to snip off the top leaves at the tallest points of the plant. It's counter-intuitive to do that, because they're the smallest leaves, but that's what will promote growth and bushiness. Don't snip off more than a third of the plant, though.

clip the tops down about 5 or 6 inches, trim just above a place where leaves branch off, new tops will grow from where the leaves branch out, so for every clip you make you'll get 2 new tops.
