If there was a major disaster and you had to stay indoors for a week?
Question:Would you at this moment in time have enough food in your home to survive on?
Answers:
Well we always have enough 'taters to make chips with, but the basics such as bread, milk & butter would only last a couple of days
- oh, & at this moment we have no ice-cream eh pups?! - jokes xxx
for barely a few days, my shopping day is monday and it only lasts a week! Think i might stock up the old baked beans!!
yeah but it would not be a very diverse meal. Ramen .
Yes but water might be a problem.given thet the mains were cut off. Also no means of cooking the food we have.
Easily. We could cater for a few more too. My wife is very keen on having a fully stocked freezer - two in fact. There is a danger we would run out of tea though.
Pray for that your always safe !
for food yes but would not have milk or sugar so no coffee that would be a nightmare and a half
reckon so
Yes, as a grandmother, I like to keep the pantry well stocked. Never know who will pop in.
yes i would as i always stock up and double everything and i have a big enough freezer for all the food to go in .
no chance i got very little in
Yeh but it would purely sustain me, I wouldn't be able to make nice meals..it wouldn't taste nice!
i would have enough food to last at least a month, being disabled when i do the shopping i get it in bulk in case i am in too much pain to go out.
The only thing i would not have enough of would be bread and milk.
yes got loaded cupboards full of old tinned stuff.
Yes. I always keep loads of bottled water.. & canned goods in the house. My grandparents were Mormon so from childhood I learned to always be prepared for any type of disaster. I think it is wise to always be prepared. I even have emergency candles, plenty of flashlights with unused batteries available. I mean we never know when an emergency arises.
The average human body can live close to a month without food. So this means you could survive even if you had no food. I've personally gone over a week without food and I'm a fairly small guy. I tried to see how long I could go without water though and only made it four days before I started hallucinating.
Yup, I do believe I would. I went to the grocery store yesterday, and happened to stock up on non-perishables. I have camping gear and fuel in my home, as well as plenty of water. I also have two oil lamps, with plenty of kerosene to use in them. I have a dutch oven and a fireplace, so I could even manage bread if I had to, as I keep powdered milk around. I might not eat elegantly, but I'd eat, and I have a bunch of books waiting to be read, so I'd have plenty to do as well :-)
Yes i would it would give me a chance to empty my freezer and use up the tins in my cupboard. the only thing i would run out of is bread but then that wouldn't worry me
There would be enough for me but I do not know what the wife and four kids would eat. Oh! or the dog.
what a good time to start that diet
As long as we had water, food we can go without for a week. My husband is a morman and they collect tins, enough to live on for one year! In fact they collect everything needed to survive without money for a year, amazing, a wise thing to do, but wheres the faith? anyway, i diversed from question, no, at this moment, I do not have enough food to keep myself and my son for the week. Maybe my husband will sell me a tin or three?
Yes I would be o.k. as long as the freezer didn't pack in then I would be a bit pushed ,but think I would still make it.Not so sure about toilet paper though----make have to make alternative arrangements in that direction!
lol not at the moment , any impending disaster would have to wait for a few hours as today is shopping day .. better yet the disaster could hit while I'm in Morrison's we would be able to last for ages in there, could even have a food fight lol xxx
