Is a whirlpool washer/dryer the same product as a Kitchenaid washer/Dryer?
Question:what is considered a reliable washer/dryer? I had great luck with kitchenaid, has kitchenaid been bought out by whirlpool. Some friends has told me that. Is it true?
Answers:
I'm not sure if they are the same products, model for model, but yes, Whirlpool bought the Kitchenaid line.
At one time Kitchenaid was owned by Hobart, but no more.
I have a Fridgidaire washer & dryer, and they are owned by Electrolux of Sweden. I was told that Electrolux also made front load washers for GE and some other companies. They are well-made, haven't had any problems with them. Take a look at their horizontal front-loading washing machine - it is very efficient, uses far less water than a conventional top-loading washer, and has a huge capacity. It also has a very high speed spin cycle, which eliminates a lot of water from the clothes, so that drying time is reduced and requires much less energy.
Get a Roper. They are made by Maytag, they are cheap, and work a long, long time.
