How close can we put our gas grill to our condo?
Question:Most government sites and recommendations i've found say that gas grills should be at least 10 feet from your home. How is that possible with a patio or condo? We have a 20 x 6 ft patio and I'd like to put a Weber Summit S-450 out there.
Too big?

Any grill can flare up if too much grease gets on the flame. Look at your lease or condo association rules. If there is an overhang the heat will eventually warp vinyl siding on it. Common sense goes a long way when it comes to grilling out. Do you have neighbors above that would be smoked out?
Be cool about it, think about the initial flare up when you light it and add food. One point you may want to remember, insurance doesn't always pay for stupidity. Be safe.
I have been grilling for 40 years and have never had any grill as far as 10 feet from a house. The 10 feet makes a little sense for a charcoal grill due to monoxide, but except for heat, which I would allow one foot for, a gas grill does not pose a hazard to the building.
Where I live its 20 feet as the fire department says.. but to be( safe ) and sure, call the local fire dept and ask them...
