Rabbits on lawn?

Question:there is a rabbit nest on my lawn with at least 3 babies in it. they've been there for a few weeks, and i saw a dead baby lying in perfect condition on my lawn today. does anyone have an idea about what could have happened to it? was it disowned?

Answers:
It either could have been disowned or the runt. That did not get enough nourishment.

Any number of things could have happened to it, I have seen the young ones be so frightened of something that they just fall over dead. More likely it was out of the nest and a cat or dog happened on it and killed it, while just playing with it.
There are many reasons, could be disowned, could be the runt, could have wandered off disoriented, could be scared to death. Rabbits I have had that died ate something toxic, died of old age or dropped dead being scared.
