Do bags of water hanging up around your house acctually make mosquitoes go away?
Question:Is that true? is there anyother methods besides bug spray??
Answers:
Mosquitoes breed in water.
You can try citronella for getting rid of mosquitoes.
Mosquito Netting.
that definitely isnt true because setting water is a breeding ground for mosquitoes...i dont know any other methods other than bug spray though
Never heard that one before. I don't think it would make any difference at all. A good bug zapper would do the trick.
The partially filled bags of water are to keep flys away. The movement of the water with the wind is what makes it work. Flys do not like movement. Mosquitoes don't care.
i thought the bag of water was to keep flies away but either way it is not true
you difinately don't want standing water around your home if you have a mosquitoe problem. Today with the concern with the West Nile Virus it is a better idea to wear a high DEET misquitoe repellent. Anything with 25% or more DEET in it is best. The more the better. However be careful not to over do it with children. I wouldn't go higher than 50% with children. Be sure not to spray the face area. Neck is ok. Be sure to spray ankles and legs since they are closer to the ground where they tend to thrive. If you tend to water your lawn make sure you don't do it so much that you are leaving pools behind. Misquitoes are attracted to such things and with long grass that is all they need to breed, etc. Also if you have a bird bath be sure to change the water at least every other day. That helps keep the misquitoe population down. If you are concerned about it than get rid of it all together. If you have any other concerns talk to your doctor or local health department. They can give you some good ideas to keep you and your family and friends safe. Good Luck! :)
I have never heard of that. Try Citronella candles.
