Why don't sticky suction hooks work?

Question:

Answers:
When the moisture drys out if the vacuum created is breached the air pressure forces the cup back to its previous shape and away from the surface.

When the seal keeps its integrity even a small cup will be extremely difficult to remove due to the vacuum.

Usually the problem is that what ever you are sticking these to is porous, thus letting the air back in.
I've tried the rubber-like type that you moisten before sticking to whatever surface, and I've tried the kind with the peel & stick adhesive backing - neither would hold much weight. A total waste of 2 bucks.
Good question!! I'm tired of things falling off the windows I've stuck them too.
