What is the best appliance (fan, etc.) for cooling a small apartment?
Question:I would like to know what is the best fan, or portable air conditioner to cool a small un-airconditioned apartment. I want something that doesn't blow hot air, $150 max.

We saw a new air conditioner that you dont have to put in the window you just set it in the middle of the floor and run a plastic tube out the window for the vent... Very cool and my sister said it works great! Good Luck By the way it was at home depot but im sure they are everywhere!
you can by an apt size air conditioner it would be about 2,000 BTU it would cost about that much.. little less depending on where you live.
Window,water filled swamp cooler,portable types I've seen are around 100.00.Fans just blow the hot air around.If you use the swamp cooler, I've found that if you open a window furthest away from it,it draws more air through and makes it cooler faster,easier and at alower setting.Cheaper if you purchase at an off season..not the middle of summer when everyone wants one.
